REMINDERS

KAISER STUDENTS - Do not forget to turn your permission slips in (by tomorrow if possible!) if not than Wednesday! Here is your schedule for the first couple of days!

Monday, Dec 1                KP Orientation - Ariel Chan, Director of Student Volunteers 

                        This fulfills the required NEO orientation for the students 
                        10:00 - 12:00 - Livermore Conference Rooms 1, 2, 3 

Tuesday, Dec 2              Livermore/Pleasanton Facility Orientation (to include the San Ramon students) - Kareen Knowles 
                        I will provide an overview of our facilities, expectations and service. 
                        9:45 - 11:45 - Livermore Conference Rooms 1,2,3 for Livermore MOB students 
                        1:30 - 3:30 - Pleasanton Conference Room C for Pleasanton and San Ramon students 
        
Wednesday, Dec  3        All students are in class 

Thursday, Dec 4        First day for students in your departments! 
                        9:45 - 11:45 for a.m. students 
                        2:00 - 4:00 for p.m. students

• Parent Signature Sheet is due tomorrow
• Midterm for our class is tomorrow - 100 questions, T/F or multiple choice.
• Binder Check tomorrow or possibly Wednesday or Thursday!
• Please have your small mead (or whatever brand) notebook in class tomorrow.
• Please have a pack of thank you cards in class tomorrow.  You can usually pick up a pack of ten at the grocery store for about 3.99.  We will not use all of them but we will get started!
• Please also have your community classroom binder in class tomorrow (with your calendars and the driving map/directions to your site!)

Please read through your CC Student Handbook with a Parent/Guardian tonight.  Please return the confirmation letter with parent signature no later than next Tuesday.

Please also have your binder set up and ready to go by next Monday!

SCRUBS

• Make sure you wash them on cold and hang dry.  If you put them in the dryer they may end up pilling like mine :( and I would hate for that to happen.
• I have two students that are interested in possibly selling their scrubs as they no longer can continue with us due to academic scheduling conflicts. Please see me if you are interested in purchasing an extra pair!

IMPORTANT - MARK THESE DATES ON YOUR CALENDARS!

All non-Kaiser students - I am requesting that you be at school Thursday from 1-3 with me.  I tentatively have ValleyCare, a vet tech and a dental hygienist coming in to speak to you in your specific areas.  

Kaiser students - Remember December 1st and 2nd will be all day training days at Kaiser.  I will get field trip permission slips out to you next week to get clearance from your home school site and parents.

HOMEWORK

• Everyone is to wear their scrubs on Monday.  Your hair, shoes, jewelry, nails, hygiene should be as it will when you go to site.  This is for points and more importantly we will take our class picture.  Please do not wear any bright, garish make-up.  All acrylic nails should be removed this weekend and your polish, should you choose to wear any , should be a soft neutral or nude color.
• Please give your parents the sign in off sheet and go over your CC binder.  Please also give them the parent letter if you are in my AM class (or if you are a PM student who forgot ;)).
• I will need everyone's pink schedule no later than Tuesday.  If you do not have your interview set yet with your site you need to let me know, but please get it done as quickly as possible.  It is important that I know where you will be going before we leave for Turkey break - gobble gobble!
• Lastly, I would encourage you to study for our final.

• Spend 30 minutes practicing answering the tough question of "tell me a little about yourself" in the mirror and then have an adult ask you the question.  You have 30 seconds to answer.  Get an adult's signature! - Yes! Again!
• If I have given you your site, print out a map with directions from your school and/or home to your site.
